Beck, Devandra Banhart, No Age, LCD Soundsystem’s James Murphy, and other musicians will be contributing the soundtrack to a new piece of artwork at an installation in Washington, DC. The art, titled Song 1, features a series of 360-degree films being projected onto the exterior of the city’s Hirshhorn Museum, with the soundtrack being comprised of the aforementioned musicians singing their individual takes on the 1930s jazz song “I Only Have Eyes for You.” The aim of the artist, L.A.’s Doug Aitken, is to ‘make the Museum recede into cinematic space’ and to transform the iconic circular building into what he’s calling ‘liquid architecture.’

Keane have wrapped work on their much anticipated new album, which will be their fourth and their first full-length since 2008’s Perfect Symmetry (an EP, Night Train, dropped in 2010). Dubbed Strangeland, it was produced by Dan Grech-Marguerat, and is said to be a throwback of sorts to Keane’s original, more piano-pop based sound, as opposed to their more recent synth-y experiments. The tracklisting for Strangeland will include songs “Sovereign Light Café,” “Neon River,” “In Your Own Time,” “Disconnected,” and “Sea Fog,” among others; Keane, which include Tim Rice-Oxley, Richard Hughes, singer Tom Chaplin, and the recently-added Jesse Quin, are expected to tour in support of the new set.
