TIM WHEELER (Ash’s frontman) and Blur guitarist Graham Coxon are both working on songs for a new British film called The Wanderers. Essentially a “Britpop musical,” the storyline tells the tale of a band from the UK town of Essex, where Blur are also from. In addition to his work with The Wanderers, Wheeler is also composing the musical score for Spike Island, another new movie that documents The Stone Roses’ legendary 1990 Merseyside show – that film is due in select theatres later this year.

OF MONTREAL are prepping to kinda-sorta follow up their latest album, Paralytic Stalks, by dropping several standalone singles before releasing another full-length studio set. The singles are expected to drop one at a time this fall, the first being rumoured to be “The Triumph of Disintegration,” and may be gathered together into a complete album by next spring, but only time will tell. In the meantime, the band will be trekking to Europe for a few festival shows in the UK, Switzerland, and Portugal.

SWANS are having a busy summer, first releasing their latest studio album, The Seer (which drops August 27), and then following the set up with an extensive tour that will include stops in the U.S. and Europe. Their dates will include shows in Seattle (9.7), Austin Texas (9.14), Minneapolis (9.21), NYC (10.10), Toronto (10.25), Paris France (11.19), Hamburg Germany (11.22), Vienna Austria (11.28), and Bologna Italy (11.30.)
