AIMEE MANN has tapped pal John Hodgman and Oscar-nominated actress Laura Linney to co-star in a witty new music video for “Charmer,” the title track from her latest album. Although Mann had only met Linney once, the actress showed up for the video shoot on a humid, 100-degree New York City day and enthusiastically played out her role as a cyber-version of Mann in a low-budget environment, impressing Mann, the director, and everyone on set. The video itself perfectly suits Mann’s quirky indie-rock inventiveness, and gets her her own ‘robot double’ to boot – check it out HERE

RYAN ADAMS is keeping his songwriting and production skills close to home for his next project – he’s set to work with (and possibly give some indie cred to) his wife, singer Mandy Moore, on what will be her seventh studio album. Adams, who has his own studio, will likely welcome Moore there as well, to help put together the follow-up to her 2009 folk-pop effort, Amanda Leigh. Adams’ own latest collection of tracks, last year’s Ashes & Fire, is set to be followed-up soon by his Live After Deaf live recordings boxset.
