PETER GABRIEL is in the music news again this week, as the Genesis singer turned indie-art-rock-inspiration has just released his Live in Athens DVD/Blu Ray. The set includes both Gabriel’s live performance in Athens from 1987, which includes Youssou N’Dour’s first opening act for Gabriel, plus Gabriel’s Play DVD which features almost two dozen promo videos. Fans will be happy to find that both discs include loads of Gabriel Classics, from “Games Without Frontiers” and “Biko” to “Sledgehammer”…

ROBIN THICKE is the latest add to the roster for the upcoming Clear Channel iHeartRadio Music Festival, which will take place September 20-21 in Las Vegas.  Also playing at the event will be The Summer Set, Muse, Tiesto, fun., Bruno Mars,  Phoenix, Maroon 5, Benny Benassi, and Sir Paul McCartney (also a recent add.)  In other Thicke news, he’ll be performing at the 11th Annual MTV Video Music Awards Concert on August 23.

THE REPLACEMENTS are set to stage a number of reunion shows, their first in over two decades, with original bandmates Paul Westerberg and Tommy Stinson bringing drummer Josh Freese and bass player David Minehan on board for the concerts. The band initially started recording together again to assist former guitarist Slim Dunlap with some heavy medical bills, and the reaction of their fans was so great, they finally agreed to play live again.
