MUSE are planning out a big celebration for their 20th anniversary as a band, to be anchored by a big tour celebration in 2014. The band, which actually formed back when they were teenagers in their hometown of Teignmouth, Devon England, in 1994, didn’t release their first album until 1999, and have obviously done quite well for themselves since then. They’re also planning to release a concert film, which frontman Matt Bellamy says is going to be dropped in super-high-resolution 4K, so fans will be able to see “ridiculous detail” in their live performances; no release date has been announced yet for the film, but Bellamy says he expects it to get at least a partial theatrical release, including some IMAX screens.

THE MACCABEES’ Felix White has just dropped his first solo EP, Cosmo, on which he collaborated with former school pals Jack Penate and Jessie Ware, as well as new musical friends Florence Welch and I Am Kloot’s Johnny Bramwell. Cosmo, seven tracks in all, was recorded in The Maccabee’s own South London studio, and White’s chosen “Yalla” as the set’s first single; videos for five of the songs can be seen/heard over at White’s special webpage for the album, where you can also snag the EP on CD or vinyl.

BOB GELDOF, influential ’80s legend and Live Aid founder, has announced that he’ll be the first Boomtown Rat into space next year (yes, actual space), as a passenger on a commercial flight planned to launch 100 people into space in 2014. The “little” jaunt on SXC (Space Expedition Corporation) will cost Geldof a cool $100,000.00, and will launch from Curacao; Geldof is already training in a space flight simulator in the Netherlands.
