WILCO’S Jeff Tweedy is taking some time off from the band to embark on a solo tour of his own, which will see him playing live mostly in the Western half of the U.S. (Wilco played their last shows “for a while” earlier this month, including a stop at the Austin City Limits Festival.) Tweedy’s schedule will include solo shows in Kansas City (12.3), Denver (12.5), Seattle (12.8), and several shows in both San Francisco and Los Angeles in the second half of December.

SMITH WESTERNS and Sky Ferreira are fresh from a few overseas dates, including a stop at the Parisian Pitchfork Music Festival, and have been taking the tour bus together stateside for a double tour, the former promoting their new Soft Will album, and the latter her new Night Time, My Time set. Stops on their trek include Washington DC (11.18 at the 9:30 Club), Detroit MI (11.20 at The Magic Stick), and Chicago (11.23 at The Vic.)

YO LA TENGO have just released a double CD deluxe edition of their 2013 album Fade. The new edition arrives with a plethora of goodies, including an extra disc of outtakes, live versions of songs, cover tunes, demos, and a download card for several additional tunes, all via Matador Records. A 7″ of the band’s “Super Kiwi” track is also newly available, as recording during the Fade sessions with The Sea and Cake’s John McEntire; the B-side for that disc is a cover of a Beach Boys song.
