MOGWAI, who, as of late, have been getting confused with newbie band The Mowgli’s, are about to smash that musical misunderstanding all to bits with the upcoming release of their new studio album, Rave Tapes, which just hit outlets on January 20. Recorded at Mogwai’s own Castle of Doom studio in Glasgow, Scotland, the band tracked the set with producer Paul Savage, with tunes including “Blues Hour” and “No Medicine for Regret.” Mogwai are also planning to tour the UK in support of the new disc, with dates starting in late January.

THE 2013 ROCK AND ROLL Hall of Fame has selected their inductees for the Class of 2014, and they’ll be inducted at a special ceremony at the new Barclays Center in Brooklyn, New York in early April. BRUNO MARS, who just snagged a 2014 Grammy for Best Pop Vocal Album, is supporting that set (Unorthodox Jukebox) with his Moonshine Jungle World Tour, which will kick off in his home state of Hawaii on April 19, and will continue in California on May 27 in Fresno. Hope Mars has a gigantic suitcase, because this trek’s going to keep him on the road until mid-August, including stops in Los Angeles (6.1), Chicago (6.20), and Toronto (7.26.)
