Monday Music News 2014 2.24 2DURAN DURAN have a new covers album out this week, and it’s chock-full of the vintage UK band’s B-sides and album tracks as envisioned by other artists. Among the covers on Making Patterns Rhyme are Warpaint’s take on the dark, brooding “The Chauffeur,” Liars’ reboot of “Ordinary World,” and a TBA track by Moby. Making Patterns Rhyme will be in-stores on February 25 – in the meantime, check out the album’s inspiration at duranduran.com.

TODD TERJE is set to release his new album, Yes, It’s Album Time, this spring, including some eclectic artwork from illustrator Bendik Kaltenborn on the packaging. The Norwegian DJ’s tracklisting includes tunes “Leisure Suit,” “Delorean Dynamite,” and “Inspector Norse,” plus a guest spot from Bryan Ferry on “Johnny and Mary.”  Yes, It’s Album Time will hit stores on April 8 on Olsen Records.

EDWYN COLLINS is the subject of one of two new rockumentaries set to premiere at this year’s SXSW Festival, namely The Possibilities Are Endless, which tells the story of the frontman of influential indie-pop band Orange Juice and his recovery from recent medical issues. Collins, who dropped his eighth solo album, Understated, last year, is now working on a new acoustic album that’s expected out this summer and which will form part of the documentary’s soundtrack. The second film, the George Hencken-produced Soul Boys of the Western World, tracks the band Spandau Ballet’s early-’80s journey through the London rock pop-rock scene.
