COLDPLAY’S brand new album Ghost Stories is in stores this week, showcasing a completely unexpected direction for the band with its more spare, electronica-focused format. Singles “Magic” (complete with circus-themed video), “Midnight,” and “Another’s Arms” prefaced the album, with Coldplay’s Avicii collaboration, “A Sky Full of Stars,” being the latest single dropping last week;  look for Coldplay all over the place this summer, including a performance the US version of The Voice plus big shows in Tokyo and Sydney in June, and London in July…

OASIS are celebrating the 20th anniversary of their debut album, Definitely Maybe, and its debut single, “Supersonic,” and are releasing all three of their earliest studio albums to celebrate. The Definitely Maybe reissue will hit outlets this week as a three-disc set stuffed with previously unheard tracks and rare footage; the other reissues – of 1995’s (What’s the Story) Morning Glory? and 1997’s Be Here Now are expected to get similarly lush treatment so as to become Oasis fan collector items.

PAUL MCCARTNEY’S U.S. summer tour has expanded, following the Beatle’s recent health crash overseas, where he caught a virus and had to cancel the remaining dates on his Japanese tour. His upcoming U.S. dates should give him a reasonable amount of time to recover, though, before he kicks off his stateside shows in Texas on June 14; additional stops will include Nashville, Chicago, Kansas City, L.A., and a show at San Francisco’s Candlestick Park, where The Beatles performed on their final tour in 1966.
