PHILIP SELWAY, best known so far for his standout work as their drummer, released his solo album, Weatherhouse, last month, and is now planning to promote the set with a headlining UK tour that will start in February. Selway’s shows will include stops in London, Leeds, Glasgow, and Manchester, and will be followed by a second lineup of European dates that will include shows in Berlin (2/4), Paris (2/6), and London (2/11); a stateside show in NYC is expected next spring.

IDLEWILD have added even more dates to the tour schedule they recently announced, which will now be making stops in Manchester (3.12 at The Ritz), London (3.13 at The Roundhouse), and Belfast (3.20 at The Limelight.) The trek is aimed at promoting Idlewild’s upcoming new album Everything Ever Written, which will be their first since 2009’s Post Electric Blues. This will also be their first album that will include contributions from new bandmates Andrew Mitchell and Luciano Rossi.

THE HUNGER GAMES MOCKINGJAY PT. 1 soundtrack is out today, with musical support being sent by silver parachute (aka CD) to Katniss Everdeen, who now finds herself in District 13 as the continuing symbol of mass rebellion. Tracks on the soundtrack in our part of the world include songs from Charli XCX featuring Duran Duran’s Simon LeBon (“Kingdom”), Bat for Lashes’ cover of the Son Lux song “Plan the Escape,” The Chemical Brothers’ “This is Not a Game,” and Chvrches’ “Dead Air.”
